In the advent of combat players will be asked to check their initiative. How to find your initiative is by figuring out what kind of action you plan to take. Is it social, mental, or physical? When you know which one then you will know your initiative is equal to current base traits you have in that category.
Base traits is defined as you being able to bid an lose these traits. So if you have a base of 8 in Homid, and as a Garou go to crinos (+8 more) you have an initiative of 16. Now as you bid and lose these traits your initiative is also effected. There are some effects that give you a bonus to initiative (such as Spirit of the Fray), and these should be calculated correctly. Just remember, even if you are biting some one, a power that gives you a bonus to biting is not a bonus to initiative.
Now, when combat starts, we will be doing something that may seem odd. We will start counting up from 1. As we reach the number that represents your initiative state who or what you are effecting and what you are doing. When the last person says their initiative then we start counting down from highest and resolving these actions.
*If you miss out on stating your action during the count up phase then you missed this action, please pay attention.
After that we declare new action, if any, and continue till all actions are done, at which point we will ask if anyone is pressing, if the answer is yes then we enter the next round.
Example:
Staff: "Everyman. 1,2,3,4,5,6..."
Player 1: "6, Social, I am yelling at the Player 2, the Trash Man, for waking me up so damn early on my day off."
Staff: "7,8,9,10,11..."
Player 2: "11, Physical, As the acting Trash Man I am just gonna get on my truck and ride away."
Staff: "11, Trash Man finishes his job and jumps on his truck. 6, Player 1 yells at him. Player 1?"
Player 1: "I hope you get violated in the ears by a blender made of rust spoons!"
If there is any confusion Staff will be available to assist in anyway possible, and as you can see, with just a two person conflict it can be resolved very quickly and easily. For Mob Combats, as we have seen in the past, they can become time consuming and a bit scathing, but this is a Fera Game, so it is bound to happen and I hope we can all be patient and attentive when the time is needed.
Note: If, at the point your action for your initiative comes around and the original declared action is made invalid or changes, you may spend a willpower to change your action at this point.
This does not let you declare an action, then just cause you feel like it, spend a willpower to change it for the fun of it. Your original action must be made invalid or changed so drastically that you find it difficult to continue with the original action.
