Resist Pain:
Through force of will, the Philodox is able to ignore the pain of his wounds and continue acting normally. A bear-spirit teaches this Gift.
(No changes) Spend a willpower and ignore wound penalties for a scene.
Scent of the True Form:
This Gift allows the Garou to determine the true nature of a person. This information is conveyed as an olfactory sensation — it is actually a scent of the target's natural form. Any spirit servant of Gaia can teach this Gift.
(Changes) Garou require no test. For anything else, make a mental challenge retesting with primal urge. On a win or a tie, Vampires, fairies, or other shifters are detected. On a win, the Garou can detect fomori or mages.
Truth of Gaia:
As judges of the Litany, Philodox have the ability to sense whether others have spoken truth or falsehood. A Gaffling of Falcon teaches this Gift.
(Changes and clarifications) User uses mental traits and defender uses social traits, retesting with empathy while the defender retests with subterfuge. If successful, the user of this gift can tell if the target is intentionally full of shit. Note that this will still catch clever wording, but if the target honestly believes what he is saying is true, this gift will register it as true. This gift has been known to be unreliable when used on some who have psychological damage.
Call to Duty:
Any spirit the Philodox knows by name is a potential servitor. With this Gift, the werewolf can summon and command any spirit she knows by name. Only one command is possible at a time, and the spirit departs after fulfilling the one request. An Incarna avatar teaches this Gift.
(No changes) Make a social challenge with a difficulty of the spirit’s willpower. This application requires the Garou to know the spirit’s name somehow. For the cost of two gnosis, the Philodox can instead call every Gaian spirit within a mile to come and help, regardless of knowledge of names.
King of Beasts:
The Philodox's authority extends even into the realm of beasts, such that he can command the loyalty of any specific animal. If successful, the animal follows his commands willingly and unconditionally. A lion- or falcon-spirit teaches this Gift.
(Changes) Make a social challenge, retesting with Animal Ken. The difficulty depends on the nature of the animal (see below). If successful, the target animal is completely loyal to you and will follow all commands.
Sibling / 3
To feed and care for / 6
Stranger / 12
Hostile / 15
Strength of Purpose:
Some Garou feel so strongly about their place in the pack, the tribe and the world that they can draw on this resolve in times of need. The Philodox can pull new resolve from his deepest reserves. A wolf-spirit teaches this Gift.
(Changes) Take a round to focus and throw a test for every level of the rituals ability possessed, win or tie. For every success, regain a temporary level of willpower. There is no cost for the gift, but it can only be used once per scene.
